Story Begins...
Title: Tama and Mimi - A Friendship
ねこがいっぴきいました。
Neko ga ippiki imashita.
There was a cat.
あるひ、ねこはともだちをさがしにでかけました。
Aru hi, neko wa tomodachi o sagashi ni dekakemashita.
One day, the cat went out to search for a friend.
みみのながいうさぎとであいました。
Mimi no nagai usagi to deaimashita.
The cat encountered a rabbit with long ears.
ねこはうさぎとともだちになりたいとおもいました。
Neko wa usagi to tomodachi ni naritai to omoimashita.
The cat wished to become friends with the rabbit.
ねこはうさぎに「ともだちになりましょう」といいました。
Neko wa usagi ni "Tomodachi ni narimashou" to iimashita.
The cat said to the rabbit, "Let's become friends."
うさぎはうれしそうににっこりとほほえみました。
Usagi wa ureshisou ni nikkori to hohoemimashita.
The rabbit smiled happily.
それから、ねことうさぎはいっしょにあそびました。
Sorekara, neko to usagi wa issho ni asobimashita.
After that, the cat and the rabbit played together.
ねこのなまえはたまで、うさぎのなまえはみみです。
Neko no namae wa Tama de, usagi no namae wa Mimi desu.
The cat's name is Tama, and the rabbit's name is Mimi.
たまとみみはいっしょにとてもたのしいひをすごしました。
Tama to Mimi wa issho ni totemo tanoshii hi o sugoshimashita.
Tama and Mimi spent a very enjoyable day together.
